用一句客氣的「我還以為」來調侃對方的塊頭，明明在開玩笑卻說得一本正經；這種反向吹捧比直接誇更讓人受用。

跟熟人開玩笑、拿對方的外形做無害調侃時用；第一次見面或不熟的人身上用容易變成冒犯。

用一個粗俗卻精準的說法形容震懾力：不是「讓人害怕」，而是「嚇到骨子裡」，炫耀裡還帶著對這種效果的自豪。

形容某樣東西極嚇人、或某種手段極有威懾力時用；口語場合合適，正式場合別說。

It frightens people half to death. ／ It scares them senseless.

口語

scares 重讀，the shit out of 連成一串，people 輕收。

That scene scares the shit out of me every time. 那場戲每次都能把我嚇個半死。
