Sea Monsters Revealed at the Race, Explained: worried half to death
The race ends in a downpour that strips Luca and Alberto of their human disguises, and the town sees them for what they are. Ercole reaches for a harpoon, and someone shouts, "Stop! They are not monsters." The crowd has to decide whether the boys are pets, prizes, or people.
What happens
When rain falls during the Portorosso Cup, Luca and Alberto turn back into sea monsters in front of the whole town. The crowd panics, someone yells "Sea monster," and Ercole grabs a harpoon to hunt them. Giulia and others step in to protect the boys, and the sponsor's representative eventually confirms that, technically and legally, they still won the race.

What's really going on
Everything the boys were told to hide is exposed at once, and the town's reaction is exactly the fear they were raised to expect. "Stop!
