小玉米饼的旁白一开口就说 We got the prettiest place on earth（我们这儿可是世上最美的地方），一句 They built the wall that cuts us off（他们筑起高墙，把我们隔在外面）——cut off 就是「隔绝、切断往来」；可这里的人偏不服，But we ain't going nowhere（可我们哪儿也不去）。想学又土又倔的美式口语，这几句最地道。

开场是小玉米饼的旁白。镜头掠过被水环抱的家园「浴缸」，她说 We got the prettiest place on earth（我们这儿可是世上最美的地方）；on earth 就是「世上、天底下」，夸一样东西好到没边时最常用。可爸爸温克却指着对岸说 Ain't that ugly over there（你看那边，多难看）。接着她说 They built the wall that cuts us off（他们筑起高墙，把我们隔在外面），cut off 是「隔绝、切断往来」，被墙、被距离隔开都能用。这里的人明明随时可能被水淹没，却偏要留下：But we ain't going nowhere（可我们哪儿也不去），用双重否定把「哪儿也不去」说得又倔又带劲。她还说，总有一天暴风雨会把一切都变成水。适合学美式口语的夸张和倔强。

可以说 cuts us off。旁白里说 They built the wall that cuts us off，就是「他们筑起高墙，把我们隔在外面」。cut off 也能指电话被切断、供给被切断。
可以用 ain't going nowhere。But we ain't going nowhere 字面像双重否定，实际就是「可我们哪儿也不去」，语气又倔又强硬，是口语里的说法。
ain't 是口语里的非正式写法，相当于 am not is not are not，常见于美国南方和黑人英语。日常正式场合别用，但看懂电影、听懂歌曲很需要。
说 a bunch of babies。旁白说 they're afraid of the water like a bunch of babies，就是「他们怕水，活像一群没断奶的娃娃」，带点看不起的调侃。
意思是「卡在……里出不来」。They got their babies stuck in carriages 就是「他们的娃娃都困在婴儿车里」；堵在路上、卡在某个处境也可以用。
