可以用 steam open。剧里说 so you weren't just steaming open his mail，意思是「所以你不是偷偷拆开他的信？」，这是偷看信件又不想留下痕迹的老办法。
意思是「把事情理清、别搞混」。埃里克说 I'm telling so many lies now, I can't keep 'em straight anymore，就是谎撒得太多，连自己都记不清哪句是真哪句是假了。
它指「危及、损害」，语气比 hurt 重，多用于会毁掉整件事的严重情况。凯特骂埃里克 You could jeopardize this entire investigation，就是说他可能毁掉整个调查。
形容包裹「完好无损、毫无痕迹」。凯特反复确认包裹重新封好后看不出被拆过，埃里克回答 It was pristine，意思是他寄出去时跟原样一样，不会让收件方起疑。
