up to snuff，通常说 not up to snuff。沃伦觉得未来女婿配不上女儿，就用这句下判断。
不是。它是「从…里得到很大乐趣、特别来劲」，后面接名词或动名词：get a kick out of languages 就是特别爱学语言。
不太礼貌，意思是「过了最好的年纪、已过巅峰」。沃伦私下对养子说女儿 a little past her prime，其实是替她着急。
expiration date。食物过了这个日期就是 has passed the expiration date，口语里也常直接说 it's expired。
