Cindy Shows Kyle the Transcript, Explained: whatever you think is best

Cindy invites Kyle over to apologize, then pulls out a court transcript to prove her case against Mike. She tells him the guardian gets paid and that the money should be theirs. Kyle hears her out until he can't: "I don't care about any of this. Just leave Leo alone!" It's a persuasion scene that becomes a rupture.

What happens

Cindy asks Kyle to come by and opens with an apology about the match, promising to do whatever he thinks is best for Leo. Then she produces a court transcript, claiming the guardian is paid and that Mike dumped Leo in a home to avoid dealing with him. She says the money belongs to them. Kyle listens until he can't stand it and tells her to leave Leo alone.

What's really going on

This is a mother trying to recruit her son, and the tools she uses are telling: an apology, a promise, and then a document. The transcript is her evidence, but her real argument is money — "Because we deserve that money, Kyle. Not some lawyer." She frames Mike's care as a scam and Leo's home as a dumping ground, then appeals to Kyle's age: "You're a big boy. You can understand that." He doesn't. Kyle's outburst, "I don't care about any of this. Just leave Leo alone!" is the first time he chooses the old man over his own mother, and the scene marks a line he won't cross. The tenderness in her voice makes the manipulation worse, not better.

Is Cindy telling the truth about the court?

Only partly. The transcript is real, but she uses it to argue that Mike abandoned Leo for money — a claim the document doesn't actually prove.

Why does Cindy show Kyle the transcript?

She wants to convince him that Mike has been lying to him and that the guardianship money should go to their family instead of a lawyer.

What does "a big boy" mean here?

It's a condescending appeal — "you're old enough to understand." She uses it to pressure Kyle into agreeing with her version of events.
