Chapter 9 of 27 · 4'25"
Kurt confesses a private fear: why would God give him a dream that probably won't come true? Brenda's answer is blunt — if it's his dream, he has to fight for it. Then the call comes: the Green Bay Packers want to sign him, and the celebration is shadowed by what leaving will cost.

Kurt Says Goodbye to Brenda
After Zack's birthday cake, Kurt admits to Brenda that he wonders why God would give him a dream that may never come true. She tells him that if it's really his dream, he has to fight for it. The scene cuts to news of an NFL chance: the Packers call and offer him a contract, and he and Brenda weigh what his leaving will mean.
The birthday party is warm, but the real scene is the quiet one after it. Kurt's dream isn't ambition exactly; it's doubt dressed as faith — "I'm just wondering why God would give me a dream that's probably never gonna come true." Brenda doesn't flatter him or tell him to be realistic. She separates the dream from his worth: it doesn't have to define him, and if it's real, he has to go fight for it. That permission is also a warning, and the second half of the scene proves it: when the Packers call, the good news arrives with a cost. "I'm happy for you, but I know that this is gonna change things," Brenda says, and the rest of the chapter is the two of them deciding to move forward anyway.
