Capítulo 15 de 16 · 3'32"
Dom and Yas sneak into Jules's flat to take back her record, and Jules walks in with his partner. The two men trade insults about the old relationship until Dom admits the day has been one of the best of his life, even like this.
Dom Says It Was a Great Day
Dom and Yas let themselves into Jules's flat to rescue her record and are caught. Jules tells Dom to run and calls Yas a human quagmire, while she throws his art back at him. In the middle of the fight, Dom says he does not know how the day will end, but it has been one of the greatest.
The flat is a comedy set piece, but it is also where Dom finally chooses a side. Jules tries to warn him off with the usual story — that Yas is a "human quagmire" who will "drag you down into all her petty shit" — and for once the insult does not work. Dom answers by describing the same day Jules is sneering at: "as weird as it's been, it's also kind of been one of the greatest days ever." It is not a defence of Yas so much as a refusal to be embarrassed by her. Then Yas ends it herself with the line that rewrites the break-up: "I made the right decision dumping your arse." The chase and the record matter less than the fact that both of them, at last, get to say what the relationship was.

“But, as weird as it's been, it's also kind of been one of the greatest days ever, so...”
A line that holds the mess and the joy at the same time.
Informal
“In answer to your question, I don't know how today is gonna end.”
An honest answer that refuses to pretend control.
Neutral
“But now, I know I made the right decision dumping your arse.”
A clean reversal: the guilt becomes proof the decision was right.
Informal
“Your hands are your tools, and I have a notoriously bony face.”
A deadpan reason not to fight, logical and absurd at once, and the phrasing sticks.

Siguiente · 16start overLa escena: Dom Arrives on a Boat for YasYas wants her copy of The Low End Theory back, and Jules will not simply hand it over. Dom calls it a record with sentimental value, so they let themselves in.
He is trying to warn Dom off her, saying she will drag him into endless small dramas. It is a way of blaming her for the whole relationship.
He would rather keep it and fight about it. He tells Dom the record has sentimental value, then tells him to run, which shows he is more interested in winning than in settling anything.
She had felt guilty about how the break-up happened. After Jules insults her in front of Dom, she decides the guilt was misplaced and that leaving him was correct.
Dom refuses to fight and jokes that his bony face would hurt Jules's hands. They take the record and leave, but not before Yas gets the last word about the break-up.
