Capítulo 16 de 16 · 2'10"
Yas calls Dom to apologise for lying about her ex, admitting she only wanted to look iconic. Halfway through, Dom reveals he is on a boat, drifting past her on the river, because "I figured you deserve the grand gestures for once." It is both a joke and the most sincere thing he does.
Maybe We Can Start Over
Yas phones Dom to apologise. She admits she lied about being over her ex, explaining that she did not want to be sad and liked being called iconic. Dom tells her it would not have mattered, and suggests they could start over. Then he reveals he is on a boat, coming to meet her.
The whole film has been building to this: Yas made a joke about people who wave at boats, and Dom's answer is to arrive by boat. His confession — "I figured you deserve the grand gestures for once, bub" — reframes everything. He is not performing for a crowd; he is doing, badly and spontaneously, the romantic thing he never managed with Gia. Yas has just admitted the same kind of fear in reverse: she lied because she wanted to be seen as "iconic," and she liked it too much to stop. The two confessions fit together because they are the same confession: both were pretending to be someone cooler than they felt. Dom's line, "I'd think you were cool either way," is the answer to that, and her answering laugh, along with "I still think you're iconic," leaves the two of them finally on the same page.

He wants to give Yas the kind of grand gesture he never managed before. Since her story was about waving at boats, he turns up on one.
No. He admits he did not check the route, so the boat is drifting off with him on it and he has to shout that he is coming back.
Yes. He says it would not have mattered and that he would have thought she was cool either way, and he suggests they start over.
It refers to someone who waves back at people on boats. It was Yas's test for people who share ordinary joy, and Dom is proving he passes it.
