Chapter 10 of 21 · 4'55"
Will shows up to apologize for disappearing and asks Skylar for 'another crack at it.' She plays it cool, then agrees to tomorrow. On their dog-track date he finally talks about his family, and later he asks Sean whether he'd have been better off never meeting his wife.
Will Names His Twelve Brothers
❝ Monologue · 10 lines Sean on Loving His Late Wife
Will apologizes to Skylar for blowing her off and asks for another chance. She says yes to tomorrow, and they spend it at the dog track, where Misty wins. As they talk, Will opens up about growing up in South Boston with too many brothers to name. Later, Will asks Sean if he regrets meeting his wife.
The dog track is where Will gets to be ordinary: he cheers for Misty and, for once, talks about his family instead of hiding it. The moment he names all twelve brothers, the joke is also a confession — a crowded, Irish Catholic house is the life he came from, not a story he read. The chapter's second half turns the same question on Sean, and his answer refuses the easy version: 'I got regrets, Will, but I don't regret a single day I spent with her.' Will keeps asking about love as if it were theory; Sean keeps answering from experience.

You ever wonder what your life would be like if you, uh... if you never met your wife? - What, wonder if I'd be better off without her? - No, no, no. - I'm not saying like better off. I didn't mean it like that. - No, it's all right. It's an important question. 'Cause you'll have bad times, but that'll always wake you up... to the good stuff you weren't paying attention to. And you don't regret meetin' your wife? Why? 'Cause the pain I feel now? Oh, I got regrets, Will, but I don't regret a single day I spent with her.

It means another chance to try. Will uses it to ask Skylar out again after messing up, which sounds softer than outright begging.
She isn't rejecting him. She's busy with her thesis work, and she clarifies she means 'not right now,' then agrees to tomorrow.
Will asks if Sean would be better off without her. Sean flips it: he has regrets in life, but none about the time he spent loving her, even knowing the pain it would bring.
It's both a joke and a glimpse of Will's real life. Naming all twelve brothers tells Skylar who he is, and her 'I'd like to meet them' shows she wants that part of him.
