The story so far
Everything you need before watchingThe talkie still needs dialogue for the unshot reels, and the old title cards will not save the plot. Molesley, once a footman at the house, stops director Barber with a bundle of scenes. He does not just pitch: he performs a casino climax, where Bill Benson is about to throw away his life on the tables until Anne appears, tall and shining with unshed tears. Barber is nearly in tears himself, and tells Molesley to finish the script however he thinks best.
