开头也许是玩，也许是挫败，但明显升级成了非常暴力的行为。
may 留下起点的不确定，clearly 立刻把结尾定成暴力。

My interpretation is that he didn't hear the whistle. So not only did he not hear the bridge, then he went and did a perfect behavior and came back, and what he got was what we call a three-second neutral response, which is just a way to let the animal know, "No, you didn't do the correct thing. You're not going to get rewarded. And then we're going to move on."
我的理解是，他没听见哨声。 所以他不但没听见桥接信号，还完美地做完动作，游了回来， 得到的却是我们说的“三秒中性反应”，就是让动物知道：“不，你没做对。 你得不到奖励。然后我们接着往下进行。”
训练做到某个时候，有人说 things went south。went south 在这里是局势开始变糟，不是往南走。讲计划、演出、会议突然砸了，都可以用。
不奖不罚的冷处理，英语是 neutral response。鲸把绕池挥鳍做完了，人仍给三秒冷处理，等于通知它这下不算对、没有奖，会话就往下进行。动作达标和口哨没接住，是两件事。
动物做对时吹一声短哨，告诉它可以回来领吃的，这声哨就叫 whistle bridge（做对了的口哨标记）。绕池挥鳍那声哨他没接住。这是训练员的术语，不是拿去对同事说这下对了。
配得上自己的名字，英语说 lived up to its name。新闻里六吨虎鲸杀死训练师，被说成配得上这个名字。人或东西终于做出跟名字一样的事，就用这句。
有人对比视频开头和结尾，说他结尾已经不那么 on his game，是没完全在平时的状态上，不是很差。on his game 是发挥稳定、在状态上。开头还按要求做，后来鱼快没了，只是没那么稳。说选手没完全在状态，用 not quite on his game。
同一句里，开头也许是玩或挫败，升级之后那阵很暴力的行为则是 anything but play。anything but 是恰恰不是，正好相反，说的是后来那阵行为，不是把开头的也许收回。想说根本不是，可以用这句。
