Capítulo 13 de 13 · 3'21"
The crew has done this before: guards are disarmed, a hostage is used as a shield, and the men inside are dared to resist. "You wanna be a hero today?" is the warning that keeps everyone flat on the floor, while the plan hinges on getting past a locked gate before anyone can raise the alarm.

Gates, time, guards, quiet: each line cashes silence into extra life.
Don't Be a Hero, David
Three Seconds to Open the Gate
A crew of armed men storms an armored cash depot. They take the guards hostage, secure the safe, and drag a wounded colleague to the gate as a shield. To get inside, they threaten to execute him and give the men at the keypad three seconds to open up.
This isn't a smash-and-grab. The crew knows the building, the shift change, and exactly where the resistance will come from. "The keypad will present a challenge. The men that operate the armory are hard boiled," one of them says — the plan depends less on firepower than on discipline and timing. The guards inside aren't cowards; they stall because the gate is on lockdown and opening it means handing over the store. Meanwhile the crew keeps a hostage alive as leverage, not out of mercy. What plays as a shootout is really a negotiation with a countdown: three seconds to choose between a colleague's life and the money behind the door.

“David, please. You wanna be a hero today?”
The question names the impulse—being a hero—and makes it sound like a very bad idea.

Once we get past the gates, it's only a question of time before we're compromised. There's too many guards that we can't control, so we keep it quiet as long as possible. The men must be stealthy. The longer their stealth, the longer we live without drama.
He is their own wounded man, so they drag him to the gate as a hostage to pressure the guards and to show they will kill him if the gate stays shut.
The gate is on security lockdown and opens only with a keypad code. Opening it hands over the vault, and the armory men are expected to resist rather than surrender.
It is crew slang: the rabbits are the targets or guards, and if they have run, the ambush is blown, so the crew switches to breaching the gate by force.
He hesitates instead of handing over his weapon, and the robber threatens to put him on the front page. His stand costs him: he is overpowered and tied up.
