Antwan Dismisses Millie's Lawsuit, explained

What happens

Antwan waves away the lawsuit against him, confident it will never reach a courtroom, then brushes off complaints and orders upgrades for Blue Shirt Guy ahead of the sequel. Later, Millie meets a player who levels up impossibly fast and dodges every question about his skin. He takes her to a quiet, safe spot he shares with his friend Buddy.

What's really going on

The office half is a portrait of a man who owns everything and answers to nothing. A lawsuit is brushed aside with "Millie, Millie Rusk? No sweat.", and when a developer points out that he promised fans the same characters, he answers with a shrug: "here's the thing. When I said that, I was lying." Truth, to him, is just another product to be packaged. The street half answers it with its opposite. A player who cannot explain how he levels up so fast meets a woman who cannot stop asking, and they trade guarded half-answers — "We all have our secrets, I guess." What he does not hide is the quiet place he shares with Buddy, a genuine act of trust that the boardroom would never offer anyone.

Key lines & what they mean

“Well, here's the thing. When I said that, I was lying.”
Antwan's casual confession, dropping a truth he never intended to honor as if it were obvious.
“We all have our secrets, I guess.”
A light way to close a probing conversation, letting both people keep what they are hiding.
“I don't know, but I don't buy it.”
Millie's verdict: the story she is being told does not add up, so she refuses to accept it.
“I've never given anyone any of my fingers.”
Guy takes the taunt about giving the world the finger literally, missing the rude gesture entirely.

Theme

  • Corruption — Antwan treats a lawsuit and his own lies as nothing to worry about, running the company on spin.
  • Trust — Guy shares a private, safe place with Millie, an act of openness set against the boardroom's secrecy.

Preguntas frecuentes

La pregunta, luego la frase
Why is Antwan not worried about the lawsuit?

He says Millie has no proof and that her former partner now works for him. With those two things in place, he is sure the case will never reach a courtroom.

What does Antwan plan to do with Blue Shirt Guy?

He orders the developers to upgrade him into a hitman-like character instead of removing him, because the character is popular on social media.

Why does Millie keep questioning Guy?

He levels up far too fast for an ordinary player and will not explain his skin. To her, that points to someone with inside access to the game.

Where does Guy take Millie?

To a quiet, safe spot he shares with his friend Buddy. It has no missions, which is exactly why he likes it.
