Guy Rallies the NPCs, explained

What happens

Something is wrong in Free City: the NPCs have stopped behaving as scripted and vanished from the streets. Guy stands up and addresses them, describing a world out there where they could be free and choose who to be, and telling them they must fight for it together.

What's really going on

The uprising is dressed up as a rousing speech, but it is really a rebellion built on an idea: that the people written to be background can want something more. "We have to fight together," Guy tells the crowd, and the line matters because the game has just gone quiet — every NPC has walked off the set. The opposing half of the scene is pure panic: Antwan, facing empty streets and a trending AI, orders respawn switched off and players killed for good, refusing to hear that anyone but him might matter. The contrast is the film's whole argument: a world where we get to decide who we wanna be against a maker who thinks people are just content to be shipped in a sequel.

“We have to fight together.”
The call to collective action: freedom won't come from one hero but from everyone standing up at once.
“Come to collect those knives you stabbed in my back, bro?”
Antwan's bitter greeting to a former partner he believes betrayed him, accusing him of opportunism.
