“I think you are the most annoying person I have ever met.”
The verdict after years of patience: no cushion, no joke, just the truth.

Capítulo 7 de 14 · 2'23"
Howard pleads with Julia for another chance, promising to leave his wife and calling his affair meaningless. Julia will not soften: "I think you are the most annoying person I have ever met," she says, and tells him that if it were up to her she would never see him again. Howard keeps trying.
Just Give Me Another Shot
The Most Annoying Person
Howard corners Julia and asks her to hear him out. He says he is having second thoughts, promises to leave his wife, and begs for another shot, insisting that his affair meant nothing. Julia refuses to soften, telling him he is the most annoying person she has ever met and that she never wants to see him again. Howard keeps pleading until she tells him to stop.
The scene is a breakup in which only one person knows it is a breakup, and the imbalance is the whole point. Howard has come to bargain, and he brings his usual tools: a promise to change, a confession, a display of feeling. He even asks her to look into his eyes, but Julia answers with a verdict instead of sympathy: "I think you are the most annoying person I have ever met." What makes it painful is how ordinary Howard's pleading is. Every line is a version of something he has said before, and she names it plainly — if it were up to her she would never see him again. The comedy of the film turns briefly cold here, because for once Howard is not negotiating for money or a deal but for forgiveness, and the answer is no.
