Tiffany Forgives Pat and Promises to Help
Police arrive after the fight and pull Pat and Tiffany apart. Tiffany takes responsibility, telling them it was a joke she started, and helps Pat calm down by getting him to breathe. Once the officers leave, she apologises and promises to deliver his letter to Nikki, and they arrange to meet tomorrow.
The scene is the clean-up after the explosion, and it shows both characters choosing each other. Tiffany does not blame Pat to the police; she takes the blame herself and reframes the fight as a joke she started, protecting him even though he had just humiliated her in public. Then she does the harder thing: she helps him breathe, telling him, "It's a song. Don't make it a monster." Her parting move is forgiveness with a practical edge — "I'll still give your letter to Nikki. Don't worry." — which is both generous and a way of keeping him close. The scene's tenderness is easy to miss because it is so unromantic: two people with bad reputations, standing on a street, deciding to meet again tomorrow.
